Tesla Model S Plaid: The Supercar Slayer

May 29, 2024 Cathrine Z

In the world of high-performance vehicles, there are few that can match the sheer power and exhilaration of the Tesla Model S Plaid. This all-electric marvel has been making waves in the automotive industry, taking on and conquering some of the most prestigious supercars on the market.

The recent showdown between the Model S Plaid and the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto was nothing short of epic. Captured in a thrilling video by the popular YouTube channel carwow, the races between these two titans were equal parts cool and insane.

On paper, the Lamborghini Revuelto seemed like a worthy challenger. With a hybrid powertrain boasting 1,051 horsepower and 1,076 Nm of torque, it appeared to be a match for the Model S Plaid's 1,020 horsepower and 1,420 Nm of torque. However, the Tesla's sheer power and instant torque delivery proved to be too much for the Italian supercar.

The Model S Plaid emerged victorious in the quarter-mile drag races and even some of the half-mile rolling races. The Revuelto did manage to win a 1/2 mile race, but it took specific, ideal conditions for the hybrid supercar to finally edge out the Tesla.

The Lamborghini Revuelto is undoubtedly an impressive machine, with its striking, angular design, ferocious speed, and thrilling sound. However, this experience comes at a premium price, with the Revuelto starting at over $600,000 – several times more expensive than the Tesla Model S Plaid, which starts at just $87,990.

For those seeking an exhilarating driving experience without breaking the bank, the Tesla Model S Plaid is the clear choice. This five-seat family sedan has proven it can hold its own against the most exclusive and expensive supercars on the market, cementing its status as a true class of its own.
